Shannon McCarthy is the owner and stylist of Studio Flourish. A lifelong artist and craftsperson, she has always worked with her hands, eyes, and passion for innovation. Growing up in Minneapolis and spending summers in the northern woods of Minnesota, she has been influenced by both the natural and the metropolitan, the organic and the edgy. An explorer and student of several forms of art and design, Shannon holds a degree in theatrical design from the University of Wisconsin, is an avid nature and macro photographer, jewelry maker, body painter, costumer, and designer of all things. She attended the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill in 2009 and worked exclusively at Aveda salons until opening Studio Flourish in 2017. Shannon has a uniquely trained and skilled eye for design, balance, color, and style, and a passion for educating herself and her clients about the art and science of hair. As a result, Shannon's signature hair designs are artful, manageable, and harmonious. She takes pride in providing her clients with modern cuts and colors that are genuine reflections of the life and personal style of each individual who sits in her chair, and delights in the challenge of designing for all different people. Shannon works primarily with Oway color, hair care, and styling products. These products are certified vegan and cruelty-free, as well as free of synthetic fragrances, petrolatum, paraben, artificial colorants, GMOs, and phthalates. Striving to live and work in a way that reflects her passion for environmental ethics and responsibility, Shannon is committed to minimizing waste and ecological impact by staying informed about the products she uses and partnering only with product companies that do the same. Cancellation Policy
I charge a 50% cancellation fee for any no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment, which must be paid before an additional appointment can be booked.
